Carthage Therapy Services Welcomes Olivia Nikitich, M.S., CCC-SLP

 

Carthage Area Hospital is pleased to welcome Speech Language Pathologist, Olivia Nikitich, M.S., CCC-SLP to its therapy services staff at Carthage Therapy Services, 1001 West St., Carthage.

“We are very pleased to have Olivia join our team as a full time therapist.   Her arrival has been long awaited.   Our Speech program has grown over the past year and we anticipate this will continue with her as a clinical leader. Olivia brings to Carthage, the ability to serve from the young to the elderly, who might have varied language based and swallowing issues. Her ongoing dedication to learning and development will continue to support our ability to deliver much-needed services to our local community,” said Cheryl Tousant, PT, DPT, Therapy Services Department Manager.

Olivia Nikitich, M.S., CCC-SLP is an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist from Croghan, NY. Olivia received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, both from Syracuse University. She holds a permanent Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate for NY state schools. Olivia has clinical experience in a variety of settings including schools, hospitals, short term rehab centers, nursing homes, outpatient clinics, and early intervention, and she is passionate about providing functional, personalized, evidence-based speech-language therapy services to the residents of our local communities. Her areas of expertise are in developmental and acquired language disorders, developmental and acquired articulation disorders, fluency (stuttering) disorders, social-pragmatic communication disorders, and cognitive communication disorders.

Therapy services provided at Carthage Area Hospital and at our outlying locations, promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Carthage Area Hospital provides Physical, Occupational, & Speech Language Therapy at two outlying clinics located on-site at the hospital and at Philadelphia Physical Therapy, 32787 Route 11 Philadelphia, NY, as well as acute & sub-acute therapy services. Our providers can help you with pain, stiffness, muscle weakness, balancing concerns, issues with limited mobility, and so much more. Carthage Therapy Service’s Hours of Operation: Monday-Thursday 7am-5pm, Friday 7am-3pm. Philadelphia Physical Therapy’s Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 7:30am-3:30pm.
