6 New Doppler Ultrasounds Purchased for Carthage Area Hospital’s OBGYN Clinic - Carthage Area Hospital

Dopplers funded by Stewart’s Holiday Match Program and

Carthage Area Hospital Foundation

Carthage Area Hospital’s OBGYN Clinic, Women’s Way to Wellness, recently purchased 6 Doppler ultrasounds thanks to the generosity of the Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Program and the Carthage Area Hospital Foundation (CAHF). In March, the CAHF was awarded $3,500.00 from the annual Stewart’s Shops Holiday Match Program. The dopplers were purchased with those funds and the rest was funded by the CAHF. Doppler ultrasounds use sound waves to detect movement of blood vessels and is used in pregnancy to study blood circulation in the baby, uterus, and placenta. It’s highly-beneficial in high-risk pregnancies where there is concern about the baby’s condition.

“The doppler ultrasounds are a necessary tool to provide peace of mind, early detection, and the best care possible directly in the clinic. We are able to give our mothers reassurance by hearing their baby’s heartbeat at every appointment. We are incredibly thankful for the donations that allow us to update our equipment and provide the highest quality of care to our patients and community,” said Cassandra Beardslee, Clinic Manager.

According to a letter received from Stewart’s Shops, “The Stewart’s Holiday Match program has now allocated over $34 million since the program’s inception. We credit the success of this program to our customers for their generous contributions, our dedicated shop partners who worked diligently to collect the funds, and to our media partners who helped spread the word throughout our many regions. All Stewart’s Holiday Match funds are to be used for children under 18 years of age and in our market area.”

“Stewart’s Shops has been an incredible supporter over the years. We’re extremely grateful for their generosity, as well as the generosity of all our yearly donors and those who contributed to the Stewart’s Holiday Match. Without their support, we would not be able to assist in the purchase of critical healthcare equipment, operational expenses, and other necessary items to ensure we provide the best care to our patients,” said Taylour Scanlin, Foundation and Marketing Executive Director.
