The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary recently purchased eight nightfall daybeds and mattresses for the maternity unit at Carthage Area Hospital. These elegant sleigh beds come with storage drawers and create a homelike environment for a visitor’s stay. The beds cost approximately $6,000.00.

Carthage Area Hospital (CAH) would like to introduce Board Certified Physician, Walter Dodard, DO as the latest addition to the CAH team. Dr. Dodard will be seeing patients at CAH’s Women’s Way to Wellness Clinic located at 117 N. Mechanic St. in Carthage, as well as performing GYN surgeries at the hospital.
Dr. Dodard completed his medical degree at New York college of Osteopathic Medicine, Old Westbury, NY in 1998. In 2003, he completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, West Islip, New York. Dr. Dodard also completed a Galloway fellowship in GYN Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY in 2002. He completed intense training in infertility and high risk pregnancies.
Dr. Dodard provides a full range of OB care and advanced non-invasive laparoscopic GYN surgeries to include the following procedures:
Evaluation and treatment of urinary incontinence
Pelvic floor/vaginal reconstruction for uterine, vaginal and bladder prolapsed
Advance treatment for endometriosis, pelvic pain and infertility evaluation
Advance minimally invasive laparoscopic surgeries for large fibroid uterus, excessive bleeding, pelvic pain, large ovarian mass.

For those without health insurance, there will be an opportunity to enroll at Carthage Area Hospital. United Healthcare will be at the hospital on Tuesdays, from 9am-1pm and Fidelis will be set up on Thursdays from 9am-1pm. Enrollment is open to the public.
