New Panda Bed Warmer Purchased with Help from Stewart’s Holiday Match Program & Carthage Hospital Foundation - Carthage Area Hospital

Carthage Area Hospital Foundation Receives $3500 from Stewart’s Holiday Match

Earlier this year, the Carthage Area Hospital Foundation (CAHF) was awarded $3,500.00 from the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program. Most recently, those funds were used to assist in the purchase of a new GE Panda Bed Warmer for the hospital’s maternity unit. The CAHF and Carthage Area Hospital (CAH) evenly split the remaining balance totaling $8,476.38 each. This piece of equipment allows medical professionals to facilitate neonatal resuscitation and provide any support for an infant if necessary.

“The GE Panda Bed Warmer is equipped with blended oxygen, radiant heat, lighting temperature modules, t-piece resuscitation, suction, easy x-ray access, and has an incorporated scale, which is incredibly ideal. If anything goes wrong with a baby, this warmer is setup to help resuscitate or provide whatever support the infant needs. We’re thankful for these donations as they ensure that we’re providing the best care we can to our mothers and babies in the safest way possible,” said Elizabeth King, RN, OB Nurse Manager.

“Being able to support the needs of our facility is incredibly rewarding. With the help of our donors, we’re able to equip our departments and clinics with the necessary equipment to take care of our community. We’re incredibly thankful to Stewart’s Shops for supporting the CAHF and allowing us to continue our mission by supporting the needs of Carthage Area Hospital,” said Taylour Scanlin, Foundation and Marketing Executive Director.

According to a letter received by Stewart’s Shops, “The Stewart’s Holiday Match program has now allocated over $32 million since the program’s inception. We credit the success of this program to our customers for their generous contributions, our dedicated shop partners who worked diligently to collect the funds, and to our media partners who helped spread the word throughout our many regions. All Stewart’s Holiday Match funds are to be used for children under 18 years of age and in our market area.”
