Carthage Area Hospital Celebrates Longtime Career

Longtime hospital employee, Dorothy Susice bid farewell to her work family on Friday, March 26th, 2021 after 37 years of dedicated service. Susice worked on the hospital’s former Skilled Nursing Unit (SNU) for 34 out of her 37 years. She started out as an Aide, then became a Unit Coordinator for 23 years before the unit was closed in 2017. She transitioned over to Medical Records where she finished her professional career as Medical Records Clerk, which she said was “a great fit.”

A socially-distanced retirement ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 24th with cake and punch, while colleagues and leadership shared well wishes. When asked what she’ll miss most, Susice replied, “The people that I work with.”

“Dorothy was a ray of sunshine in the HIM department. She had an exemplary attitude toward her work duties and uplifted her coworkers. She will be greatly missed by all,” said Tina Woodfolk, Registration/HIM Supervisor.

Carthage Area Hospital wishes Dorothy the best in happiness and health in her retirement.
