  • Calcium Primary
  • Evans Mills Primary
  • Dexter Elementary
  • Brownville Glen-Park Elementary

This program is presently aimed at 2nd and 3rd graders in each school because they should have their first molars erupted and ready for sealants.  It is imperative to have grooves/pits sealed on permanent molar teeth especially to greatly lessen the chances of decay occurring there.

Registered Dental Hygienist, Donna Farney, has been leading this sealant program for 10 years.  She visits each elementary school listed and conducts an Oral Health, Nutrition, and Sealant Educational program for all 2nd and 3rd graders and their teachers.  These students then are given a program information folder and a goody bag filled with a toothbrush, toothpaste, flossers to take home.

Enrolled students benefit from sealant placement by a Registered Dental Hygienist right at school with a Dental Assistant, portable equipment, and supplies taken right to their campus.  AND IT’S FREE!  Insurances will be billed, when available, to help cover costs, but there is no out of pocket expenses.  A grant from New York State also helps to cover the costs of this program.  The program is overseen by  Thomas McCue, DDS.

For more information and to enroll your child please contact your elementary principal, school nurse or the Dental Office at 315-493-3510.
