Melissa Beagle, LCSW

Melissa Beagle, LCSW, joined Carthage Behavioral Health as a general therapist in February 2018. Her practice focuses on a wide range of therapy needs for adults and children.

A western Pennsylvania native of Butler, Beagle first came to the North Country as an Army family in 2000 and decided to make a make a permanent home in the area.

She is a 1992 graduate of Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. In 2017, she completed the Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work Program, which is a program in collaboration between The College at Brockport and Nazareth College. Her master’s thesis focused on eating disorders. She earned her MSW licensure in June 2017.

Before she joined Carthage Behavioral Health, Beagle worked as a senior operations manager for Transitional Living Services, Watertown, from 2016 until last month. From 2003 to 2016, she worked at the Children’s Home of Jefferson County, Watertown, where she was a case manager from 2003 to 2008 and the Jefferson County SPOA/SPOE Coordinator from 2008 to 2016.

Outside of practice, Beagle enjoys running and hiking and has completed several half marathons. She is actively involved with Team RWB and also enjoys helping veterans to reengage with the community through physical activity. She also hopes to summit all 46 of the Adirondack high peaks. She is a mother of two grown daughters, Kathryn, and Chelsea.
