The use of tobacco products (including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, smokeless tobacco, or other tobacco products) is prohibited at all times on the property or grounds owned or wholly leased by Carthage Area Hospital, including parking areas - this includes tobacco use in private vehicles on Carthage Hospital property.

What is a School-Based Health Clinic?

A School-Based Health Clinic is a unique health care model in which comprehensive physical, mental, and preventative health services are provided to school-aged youth in the school setting. SBHC provides quality primary and preventative healthcare services to students enrolled in the program. It improves access to care for students, increased access to specialist referrals, and other related services.

Services Provided:

  • Age appropriate well-child exams
  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and injury
  • Management and monitoring of chronic health conditions
  • Lab testing
  • Nutritional services
  • Immunizations
  • Allergy injections
  • Mental health referrals
  • Sports physicals
  • PPD testing

What is a School-Based Dental Clinic?

It's an in-school clinic offering dental care by a hygienist and part-time dentist.

Services Provided:

  • Exams
  • Cleanings
  • Fluoride treatments
  • Sealants
  • Oral hygiene instruction
  • Fillings
  • Primary tooth extractions
  • Pulpotomies (nerve treatment)

(Permanent teeth extractions and Root Canals would be provided at Carthage Community Dental Clinic.)

Most insurances accepted. There are NO COPAYS. The clinic accepts the amount paid by the insurance. There is no out-of-pocket expense for services performed in the clinic. Any services performed outside of the SBHC, such as labs or x-rays are subject to payment.
