‘Senior Volunteer of the Year’ Award Presentation Set for April 19 in West Carthage

The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary will hold its Annual Meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 19, at the West Carthage Municipal Building, 61 High St.

Cindy Kilburn will be presented the “Senior Volunteer Award” for her many years of service to the Auxiliary. She presently serves as chairwoman of the Membership Committee.

“Cindy is a familiar face at most Auxiliary events,” Yolanda Skvorak said.” We appreciate all that she does for the hospital.”

Carthage Area Hospital CEO Rich Duvall will present an update on recent hospital initiatives and programs. The evening will include entertainment by the Camerata Singers of Carthage Central High School under the direction of Marvin Zehr, high school Choral Department.

Refreshments will be served along with door prizes and raffles. All Auxiliary members are urged to attend. Bring a friend; new members are always welcome.

About the CAH Auxiliary

The Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary is comprised of men and women who volunteer to support the hospital and believe that it’s an integral part of their communities. Through their efforts, the auxiliary helps to purchase much-needed hospital equipment.

The auxiliary presents opportunities to interact with and meet new people, try out skills and uncover hidden talents to make valuable, personal contributions that help to improve the hospital. How much a member volunteers is up to the individual — a few hours a day, week, or month, or on a special project.

The cost to join is minimal: $5 for regular membership; $4 senior citizen and $50 for life membership. The auxiliary also manages the hospital gift shop, which provides moderately priced merchandise for staff and patients.

Contact the Auxiliary Membership Committee, 315-493-1000, ext. 5207, to learn more about becoming an auxiliary member.
