Children and parents of the Watertown YMCA SACC Program raised $562.00 in pennies and change to purchase teddy bears and other items for sick children during the Holiday Season. Carthage Area Hospital was one of the hospitals to receive the fuzzy bears.
“The teddy bears will be distributed to sick children that come through our Emergency Room. They will certainly offer comfort and help alleviate some of the fears of being in a hospital. We appreciate the SACC Program for their donation.” said Taylour Scanlin, Carthage Area Hospital Marketing Director.
The motto of the SACC Community Service Program is “SACC Kids Care.” The SACC Program focuses on community service, active play, and academics. SACC is available at most schools from Grades K-6.
“We do many community service projects. It’s a great way for kids to give to other children during the Holiday Season,” said Bridgette Gates, YMCA Senior Director of Youth Development.
