Carthage Area Hospital is a 78-bed acute care hospital located in Jefferson County of northern New York State. It is federally designated as a Sole Community Provider. Therefore, the facility serves as basically the only source of primary and acute healthcare delivery within the immediate communities of eastern Jefferson, northern Lewis and southern St. Lawrence Counties.
The hospital governance and administrative leadership attempt to continually review and update our strategic vision to ensure modern healthcare technology and staff are available to enhance access and meet all primary health needs at and through local community resources.
We realize we are a unique business, as we are here to meet the healthcare needs of our community. We, therefore, consider the hospital to be a healthcare and social ministry.
We pride ourselves on recruiting and retaining quality driven healthcare providers. Our valued employees work diligently to ensure a “user friendly” environment of competent care is maintained for our patients and visitors. We have developed a program entitled “We’re here to serve” which provides concepts to continually remind all of us that meeting the needs of our patients in a timely, compassionate way is essential for our growth and future development.
It is a privilege for me to be affiliated with such supportive and caring governance, medical staff, employees and volunteers. I hope you will learn more about our valued hospital through your visit on this website.
